Bishop Noel Jones is a popular American minister, who is presently the senior pastor of the City of Refuge Church in Gardena, California, which has about 17,000 members. He presently has an approximate net worth of over $5 million.
According to Jones, he received “the call” to ministry when he was only 19 years old. From then, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Theology degree from Aenon Bible College. After he graduated, he continued on to receive a doctorate from the International Circle of Faith. He began his first job as a pastor at Bethel Temple of Longview in Longview, Texas.
In 1994, Jones took over as pastor to 1,000 members of the Greater Bethany Community Church, located at 84th Hoover Street, Los Angeles, California. From that group, he multiplied the church exponentially, which eventually forced them to acquire a new building in Gardena, California. The membership is still growing at this time. Bishop Jones and the church were featured in a documentary about Greater Bethany Community Church, titled Hoover Street Revival. Jones’ most recent television appearance was in the new reality show that aired in 2013 called Preachers of LA, which gained him even more fame than before.
The church’s choir is quite popular as well. The City of Refuge Sanctuary Choir released their debut album in 2007 called Welcome to the City, which charted on the Billboard 200 chart and made number one on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. Another contemporary of Jones who knows a thing or two about hitting the top charts is Deitrick Haddon, who has a net worth much higher than Bishop Jones.
Bishop Jones presently lives in California. Though he was previously married, he has since divorced. The couple had three children between them. In 2014, he was reported to be dating his friend Loretta. According to Jones, “If a man divorces his wife for any other reason than fornication and remarries, then whoever he marries commits adultery and whoever she marries commits adultery. Remarriage is really a great issue from a scriptural viewpoint,” he explained. “Divorce is cool. Jesus said you make yourself a eunuch for the Kingdom of God’s sake.” Some have poked fun at his reasoning, saying it simply serves his own desires.
The money his church pulls in appears to not have waned by much, as Jones seems to continue pulling in big money off his members donations, living the good life.
