Chris Paul is an American professional basketball player that was born on May 6, 1985 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Paul’s current net worth stands at around $75 million. After an amazing high school career that was capped off by appearing as a McDonald’s All-American, Paul went on to attend Wake Forest University. He spent only two years there, although he was able to lead them to the school’s first ever number one ranking.
In 2005, Paul was drafted fourth overall by the New Orleans Hornets. In his rookie year, he finished the season leading all rookies in points, assists, and steals. He was also only the second rookie in the history of the NBA to lead the entire league in steals during his inaugural campaign. His success led him to being named the Rookie of the Year.
In the 2007-2008 season, Paul was selected to the first of many All-Star games. He cemented himself as a regular on the All-NBA defensive teams and set the NBA record for consecutive games with a steal (106) in the 2008-2009 season.
After a successful career with the Hornets, Paul was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011. Today, he serves as the team’s starting point guard and is considered by many to be the face of the franchise.
In 2013, after three years with the Clippers, he signed a five-year contract that was worth around $107 million. Because of that number and his status as one of the most marketable players in the NBA, his net worth is only expected to rise.
As for his personal life, Paul married his college sweetheart, Jada Crawley, in September of 2011. The couple currently have two children together, a son named Brenden and another son named Camryn. Paul is an outspoken Christian and often talks about God in his press conferences.
