Donatas Motiejunas is a Lithuanian professional basketball player who was born on September 20, 1990 in Kaunas, Lithuania. Motiejunas has an approximate net worth of about $5 million. While being a big man in the league is not the most popular position, Donatas has a bright future as a center.
He is best known for the success that he has had while playing basketball European league which has leaked over into his NBA career. Motiejunas’ got his start in Europe, playing for Zalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League. Four years of his career was spent playing professionally in Lithuania before moving on to play for Benetton Treviso, an Italian team that was part of Lega Basket Series A.
After much improvement in Italy iwhere he averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game, Motiejunas was drafted 20th overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2011 NBA draft. He was promptly traded to the Houston Rockets, although he remained in Europe for the 2011-2012 season.
In 2012, Motiejunas signed his rookie contract with the Rockets and quickly made a name for himself in the NBA Summer League. He has 25 points and 9 rebounds in his first game, and went on to average 16 points and 8 rebounds a game during the summer league.
