Gina Carano is an American multi-career woman who works as a mixed martial artist, fitness model, television personality and actress with an estimated net worth of $3-4 million dollars. She was born on April 16th, 1982 in Dallas, Texas and had spent much of her childhood very active in sports, eventually leading to her first career in MMA.
Carano is best known for her participation as a competitor in Strikeforce and EliteXC, two televised mixed martial arts fighting organizations. She has recently pursued acting, with roles in numerous TV series and Hollywood films. Her varied careers in MMA, film, modeling and television.
Although graduating the University of Nevada with a minor in psychology, Carano started her MMA career by a pursuit of Muay Thai fighting. Her success in the sport led to her to receiving an invite to participate with World Extreme Fighting in the first female-only MMA fight. Additionally, she also received an invite to compete in World Pro Fighting in Las Vegas. She started fighting on Strikeforce in 2006, winning the first two fights and participating in the first female fight for the organization.
In 2007, she also joined EliteXC, participating and winning the first televised female fight for the network Showtime. Her career in MMA has gained her acknowledgment as a highly influential woman as well as being a strong contribution to her wealth.
Carano used her MMA experience to debut in television and film in 2006, starring in an independent cult movie called “Ring Girls”. In 2007, she went on to take part in two television shows, Fight Girls and American Gladiator. She also took a small role during an episode of the series Almost Human. Her debut into the mainstream film industry started with her role in the 2011 spy thriller “Haywire”.
Her career in Hollywood continued as she went on to score roles in the “Fast & Furious 6” in 2013, “In the Blood” during 2014 and “Deadpool” in 2015. Although Carano has not fought since 2009, she has not formally retired from the sport and is currently focusing on her acting career.
