Radio Flyer has partnered with Tesla to create a miniature version of their model S car for kids. While the luxury and amenities won’t quite compare to the full size Model S which starts at $70k for a base model, kids will get a taste of what the finer things in life are like with their very own electric powered car.
The Model S for kids will go on sale in May of 2016. Designed for kids between the ages of 3-8 a maximum weight capacity is rated at 81 pounds. The full customer experience allows kids or their parents to choose the color, performance and additional accessories to completely pimp out their ride.
Features include a sound system with connections for wireless devices such as iPod or iPhone. The front trunk is spacious enough to fit a soccer and football together as illustrated on Radio Flyer’s promotion page.
If you want to get more power out of your small Model S, you can even order a higher end battery that increases the playtime by 50% more per charge. Additionally, you will be able to customize the wheels and license plate.
To take things up another notch, the ability to order custom reserved parking sign will let others know they have no business parking anything but a small Tesla in any specific space of your choosing.
If you are wondering what the base cost will be for this kids version of Tesla, the base model starts at a measly $499 and goes up depending on the addons you choose.
While you don’t necessarily have to be rich to order this product for your child or family member, it would make sense that if you are going to shell out the money for a kid to have a luxury item, that you would already have them.
